Portland Branch Newsletter

In this issue:

  • Remembering Ilse Kolbuxzowski, March 15, 1932 – January 2, 2014
  • Annual Branch Potluck, Conversation, and Meeting – James Lee is organizing a fabulous potluck!  See attached flier
  • Anthroposophical Society Theme for the Year: The I Knows Itself.  “The individual is both the eye of the needle and the focal point that serves to form our community and society…a process of spiritual self-knowledge is needed if we are to become conscious of this process that must be created out of individual initiative…”
  • Save the Dates
  • Fool for Love, poem by Robert Kellum, inspired by recent work with the Mystery Dramas
  • Portland Branch Calendar
  • Rudolf Steiner’s Four Mystery Dramas – A Festival and Performance in August : It has never before been done in English, in this way – all four dramas in nine days with the same cast!  Given the enlightening experience we had in Portland with Barbara Renold, who helped to unpack the plays for us, she will be spearheading a masterful experience for all who are able to attend.

  • Toward a Better Understanding of  Foundation Stone Meditation, with Margaret Shipman Feb. 14 & 15.  This free workshop is a Valentine’s gift to the community from Margaret and the Branch.  Much as Barbara Renold’s lifetime of work on the Mystery Dramas made her a wealth of information and inspiration during her recent workshop here, we are sure to benefit from Margaret’s longtime work with The Foundation Stone.
  • Annual Branch Potluck, Conversation and Meeting, Feb. 23, 12 pm: How can we – as individuals and as a community – help to safeguard Anthroposophy for the future of humanity?
  • Dennis Klocek Workshop, Making All Things New:  Training the Inner Eye, March 7 & 8.    Flier and registration form.
