The arts are alive in Portland in August!

  • Mystery Drama Performance:  An August Treat – our local Mystery Drama Group will be performing Scenes I and II of Rudolf Steiner’s The Soul’s Awakening  on August 26 at Bothmer Hall.
  • Renewing the St. John’s Festival: Thoughts from Emil Bock.  A brief look into the forces at work at this time of year, and the necessity for transformation. You may be inspired to look into this further, as the Festivals Group has done.

    August 26, a performance of The Soul’s Awakening, Scenes I & II; and August 18-22 a series of lectures, one conversation, and workshops, The Forces Inspiring Art, Technology and the Process of Becoming in 2016.
  • The Forces Inspiring Art, Technology and the Process of Becoming in 2016:  Over five days artist and journalist Zvi Szir of the newARTschool in Basel, Switzerland will offer two daytime painting workshops and five evening lectures!  All are for “anyone who has an intensive interest in the reality of the inner life.”  A Portland staycation August 18-22! A description, schedule and registration form are in the August newsletter.
  • A Call to Artists of Differing Stripes!  Please join this initiative to bring together eurythmists, musicians, fine artists and others, working together to bring to life Rudolf Steiner’s magical and tender story, “The Being of the Arts.” See the article in the newsletter for contact information.
  • The Art Hall Presents a Rare Opportunity in Portland! Join Jennifer Thomson for an exhibit of her work and a 5 day art retreat, September 17-24.  See flier with registration information in the newsletter.
