Resurrection - David Newbatt

Resurrection – David Newbatt Wynstones Press

In this issue:

  • The Easter Festival in the Evolution of the Mysteries, by Rudolf Steiner  Continuing our effort to transcend what Dr. Steiner calls a sentimental, materialistic approach to the festivals, and to support the possibility of a deeper experience, we offer this lecture as a way to begin to live into the true soul mood and meaning of Easter. “The need to look to nature for symbols of the spirit has continued in our own time.  Nature, however, provides no complete image of our destiny in death; and while the idea of death has survived, that of resurrection has increasingly disappeared.”
  • Walking With Your Time: excerpt from book by Christine Gruwez: From Spectator to Contemporary
In this selection, Ms. Gruwez offers: “The primeval gesture of Manichaeism is the gesture of inclusion, welcoming, and integration. The primeval gesture of the powers of evil, as we have said before, is the gesture of fragmentation, division and exclusion.”  Reading in preparation for “Evil as a Challenge” April workshop with Ms. Gruwez.
